Woodman's Battle of the Baggers 2026

The Great Wisconsin Bag-Off: 20 contestants from across Wisconsin competed for the state title at the WGA Innovation Expo on September 30th, 2025. Hosted by the Wisconsin Grocers Association (WGA). Woodman’s very own Vicheka O. from the Onalaska location, WON FIRST PLACE!

Contestants competed by bagging a 24-item order into reusable grocery bags. The five categories’ contestants were judged on; speed, number of bags used, placement of groceries in the bags, distribution of weight between the bags, and the style, attitude, and appearance of the contestants.  

“The Wisconsin Bag-Off is a tradition in the grocery industry. Many grocers hold competition trials at their stores to get ready for the championship competition at the WGA’s Expo,” said Mike Semmann, WGA President and CEO.

Vicheka went on to represent not only Woodman’s but, the state of Wisconsin in the National Grocers Association (NGA) Best Bagger Championship, in LAS VEGAS! competing against 17 other contestants from across the nation!

Woodman’s is continuing to host in store competitions where participants showcase their skills and compete company wide for the incredible opportunity to prove their expertise! Woodman’s 2026 Battle of the Baggers is starting soon!
